Our Initiatives

The EDPAF Scholarship Fund, new in 2004, awards scholarships for higher education for families of industry members. The International Student Exhibit Design Scholarship Competition educates university student about careers in exhibit design and rewards talented students with scholarships. The Randy Smith Memorial Golf Classic raises funds to aid industry members and their families suffering emotional and financial hardships.

The EDPA Foundation Scholarship Fund was created in 2004. These scholarships are to be awarded to industry members and their families to help pursue university level of study. The first scholarships, made possible by fund raising efforts by EDPA members in the Las Vegas area were awarded in the fall of 2004 to students who reside in Clark Country Nevada. Any family member of an individual working in the exhibition industry, who has graduated or will graduate high school and has accepted attendance at a post-high school educational institute is eligible to apply.

“EDPA Supports The Next Generation” - Las Vegas Chapter Raises Unprecedented Scholarship Funds in 2006.
On June 6, 2006 more than $11,000 was raised for the EDPA Foundation Scholarship fund, which is a $2000 increase over last year. Because of the additional funds raised three additional students will be awarded scholarship funding. This brings the total number of supported students to seven. At least one of the fortunate recipients will be a Las Vegas student and one will be available to students across the country.

The tournament was held at the Legacy Golf Club in Las Vegas, NV. Sixty-eight participants gathered to raise scholarship money to provide scholarships to families of any industry member

Scholarship applications are being accepted now for the 2007 Fall Semester.
Do you have a child or know of one in the industry who is entering college in the fall? To qualify, each student must share financial responsibility, have a GPA of at least 2.8, submit an essay, intended study at university and financial statement determining need. Winners are determined on a weighted point system. Awardees must maintain a minimum 2.5 GPA, or equivalent, and provide a certified transcript with a new application each year.

Celebrating its 13th anniversary in 2007 makes this the oldest continuous charitable benefit in our industry. Unfortunately, there will always be industry members who are in dire need of our support. We look forward to the continued support from past participants and sponsors and welcome with open arms those of you who have yet to experience this event. If you cannot attend in person there are many tax deductible opportunities available for sponsorships. We also encourage donations of any giveaway items you or your corporate clients may have in your respective marketing closets.

The EDPAF would like to thank each and every one of you who have participated on any level since the inception. Together we have made a difference in the lives of more than 30 industry families. Please continue to provide emotional and financial support to these families by supporting the Randy Smith Memorial Golf Classic.
